Live satellite fire detections over Europe
This map needs JavaScript. It shows active fire and thermal anomaly detections
across Europe, updated every 15 minutes, from NASA FIRMS
(VIIRS 375 m and MODIS 1 km, near-real-time) and EUMETSAT LSA SAF
Meteosat FRP-Pixel products (Meteosat-12, Meteosat-10 and Meteosat-9 IODC).
You can filter the detections by country, see the fire radiative power (FRP) of
each detection, switch on burnt areas and fire danger from EFFIS,
and subscribe for free Telegram alerts for a whole country or a circle around any
point you choose. Nobody has to approve the subscription.
Countries covered: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus,
Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland,
Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg,
Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland,
Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland, Syria, Turkey (European part) and the Vatican.
A detection is a hot pixel, not a confirmed wildfire. Industrial
heat, gas flares and burning stubble look the same from orbit, and the data is
delayed by hours. This is an early prototype and never a replacement for your
emergency number (112 in the European Union).
